The last few days I had the great experience of meeting and treating people who were very skeptical about energy healing.
Personally, I can understand these people very well, because for a long time I myself could not open up to accepting and seeing the magic that is all around us. I was too afraid that I would believe in hocus-pocus and that the people around me would not take me seriously.
The people I was allowed to treat in the last few days had no experience with energy healing and were very skeptical about the whole thing.
However, I don't let people like that distract me from my work and I am grateful that they are open to my work.
I know very well that even if the person is still not convinced that energy healing is possible before/after the Reiki session - I still have a very special gift for this person in the treatment - the magic of touch.
Touch is essential and vital for us humans. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we (all) long for relationships, contact and physical closeness.
For some, this need is more pronounced than for others, but deep down we are all connected by the fact that we desire touch in our everyday lives.
But not all touch is the same.
Contact can be a fleeting hug, a firm handshake or, ideally, a firm, intimate embrace or much more.
However, it has to be said that we humans unfortunately pay far too little attention to the "quality" of our touch.
A large part of a Reiki treatment is the laying on of hands, if you have opted for a 1:1 in person session.
The benefit here (in comparison to the online session) is the pleasure of being able to enjoy this warm hand placement with light pressure.
I like to describe it to people that Reiki is like a massage for the soul.
The hands rest on areas such as the head, shoulders, knees, neck, heart, arms and hands for several minutes.
The light pressure, the warmth and the simultaneous gentleness of the touch activate the parasympathetic nervous system (which ensures relaxation in the body).
People begin to calm down, relax and let go.
Compared to a normal massage by a masseur, Reiki differs in that the targeted, long-lasting touch gives the recipient of the touch the opportunity to empathize with a specific area of the body.
You start to develop a better awareness of yourself and your body, possible pains and feelings.
You return to your inner self.
This magical essence of Reiki hand placement is something that, in my experience, has made even people who do not believe in energy healing to undergo Reiki treatments more often in the future. Returning to yourself in a state of complete peace is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
